Final stretch

The holidays and work have really done a number on us and we're way behind on our posting. We got our new home orientation date, 02/11 and we're so excited (and stressed at the same time). So much progress has been made and it's amazing to see all the progress.

Since we've been so late posting, here are a couple of pictures of almost finished product

At this point, the building process hasn't really given us much stress and it's been mostly straightforward and we're ready to move in. The mortgage process has been the total stress inducer and we can't wait until we don't have to deal with NV mortgage. The countdown starts and we can't wait!

  1. Yaaay! So glad to see your progress. Very spacious kitchen and love the nook. Yeah seems like that is the common language (most of the time) from NV Mort. We did not go with them, but I hate that it always seems to be one stressful apple. Hang on tight...the end is near!

    1. Thanks Eboni! We really like the end results. The only thing marring the experience is NV and we'll be so happy once we're done with them. Once we actually close, I'll have a longer post on NV Mortgage that will be hopefully be helpful to others.

  5. Hey Chris. My name is Brandon. My fiancé and I recently bought a Picasso as well in Greenbelt. We are both 26 and first time homebuyers. This process is driving my finance insane. We found your blog and wondered if you could give us some advice. How was the entire process overall?

    1. Hi Brandon. Overall the entire process has been good. The sales reps, the construction crew has been fine. We have had our ups and downs with NVR mortgage but the bottom line is to get the job done and get the place. With NVR mortgage they are trying to make money with your mortgage and we are trying to get the best deal. That can lead to a conflict of interests. I will write a piece about it after we close. Also a good resource would be the the Greenbelt Station homeowners group on facebook. There is a lot information from a lot of people that live or will live in the community.
